Is there a cost for services at IGE? How do I find out if I qualify for funding to get in to these programs?
Most people with disabilities qualify for funding through the State of Illinois Department of Human Services – Division of Rehabilitation Services (DHS-DRS). For individuals not funded by DHS-DRS, a Vocational Assessment (administration of evaluation and comprehensive report) is $500. Placement services (case management, job seeking skills training, job development, job coaching, and follow-up) are provided at the rate of $45 per service hour.

How much do I get paid for my work?
All consumers are paid commensurate wages (average for similar jobs in our community) by their employer for all work performed. All commensurate wages comply with state and federal laws and rules of the Department of Labor.

What are the work hours?
Work hours are determined by your availability and your employment.

How will I get to and from my job?
Transportation to and from the job is your responsibility. Transportation may be in your own vehicle or provided by your family, friends, community support staff, Rockford Mass Transit/fixed routes or Para-Transit or Stateline Mass Transit.

How long will it take to get a job through IGE’s Employment Services Program?
The process varies for each individual. The average time from when someone enters the program until they start working is from three to six months.
